Solutions Architect

thePlatform, a Comcast company, is looking for a multi-talented Solutions Architect for its digital media professional services group, for media, entertainment and enterprise markets.

The company's flagship product, thePlatform Media Publishing System (MPS), is the industry's most comprehensive solution for media, entertainment and enterprise customers. Custom feature enhancements and seamless systems integration are simple using the Web services-based MPS SDK.

 

This position requires a strong technical program management background, and ideal candidates will have some programming experience which would enable them to grasp the extensive MPS SDK that custom solutions are built upon. The position does not require programming, but it does require the technical ability to design solutions based on the MPS SDK.

Responsibilities:Work directly with the sales force to coordinate new projects, many of which will involve multiple phases. Gather product requirements from customers. Determine how to satisfy these requirements using the MPS SDK. Prepare functional specifications that can be understood by software engineers, testers, and the sales force. Work with the professional services team members to estimate the work for a given project.Allocate resources for projects. Maintain and update the project schedule during the development phase. Work proactively to avoid schedule slips or cost overruns. Maintain day-to-day communication with customers, the development team and upper management. Transition finished projects to the support group.

 

 

Requirements:Knowledge of rich media and content management. Strong technical program management experience and some experience developing against an SDK. Understanding of and experience with the full software development lifecycle, including functional and technical specification, implementation, QA processes, deployment and maintenance.Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Keen attention to detail and high level of commitment.Understanding of Web Services technologies, including SOAP and related standards.Proficiency in .NET, C#, HTML, CSS, Javascript, SQL, and XML a plus
