Mac RealPlayer Program Manager

Position Description:

Do you watch MacWorld keynotes? Read sites like Macworld and Apple Insider? Have excellent project management skills, and a passion for developing great Mac software? Want to help shape the development of software used by millions of Mac and PC users? Real is seeking a highly motivated program manager to manage develop the next generation of the Mac RealPlayer and additionally contribute to the development of Windows RealPlayer products. The ideal candidate will have experience and passion for developing excellent consumer software. You should be a Mac user with an understanding of Windows environments, and the unique characteristics of each. Must be independently motivated and able to work as a key part of a team that is dedicated to providing great consumer entertainment software. Product focus will be about 50% Mac, and 50% contributing to Windows RealPlayer and related products.RealNetworks, Inc. is a rapidly growing, web based, digital music, online gaming and streaming video company headquartered in Seattle, Washington, that provides the universal platform for the delivery of any digital media, from any point of origin, across virtually any network, to any person on any Internet-enabled device, anywhere in the world.Essential Functions: % of Time• Development and maintenance of written feature specifications on Mac and Windows products. 50% • Gathering and distilling requirements from key stakeholders, and adapting plans to changing requirements. 20% • Communication of project plans and progress inside and outside the team. 20% • Development and maintenance of project plans and schedules. 10%Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Minimum:• Must be a die-hard Mac OS X user with familiarity of the Windows platform.• Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal.• Strong project management skills and knowledge of best practices.• Knowledgeable about all stages of the software development process.• Demonstrated ability to ship consumer-facing product.• Excellent organization and attention to detail.• Ability to react constructively to changes in requirements and deliverables.• Ability to work with a small dedicated team.• Familiarity with bug tracking tools and bug management.Preferred:• Experience developing high volume consumer software on the Mac platform.• Experience of internationalisationlocalisation andor ecommerce an advantage.• Knowledge of software security and exploit prevention.• Experience with process improvement techniques and principles.• Experience with Linux and open source is a plus.Education, Certification, and/or Training:Minimum:Bachelor's degree in communications, writing, technical subject or computer science.Preferred:Higher or relevant second degreeExperience:Minimum:• 2-5 years Project Management ExperiencePreferred:• 5+ years Project Management Experience • Experience on consumer software projects highly desirable.RealNetworks, Inc. is proud to offer our full time employees an extensive benefits package; including vacation, medical, dental, vision, 401K, an employee stock purchase program and subsidized commuting options.
