Computer Support Specialist I

Job Purpose:

Provide technical assistance to computer system users. Answer questions and resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone, or from remote location. Provides assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.

Works with outsourced computer hardware firm to ensure servers, email, and BW website run smoothly and efficiently.Duties:

* Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems. * Assists users to resolve computer-related problems, such as inoperative hardware or software. This may require travel to various locations in multiple states.  * Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support.* Assist with development of training materials and procedures, and train users in the proper use of hardware or software. * Install and perform minor repairs to harware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.

*  Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or outsourced technicians for service.

* Assist with the development or amendments to policies and procedures as needed.

* Attend Blickenwolf meetings as assigned

* Attend job function related training as required. Additional Responsibilities:

* Assist with writing project reports and documentation for new modified software and hardware.

* May test software and hardware to evaluate ease of use and whether product will aid user in performing work.

* May write software and hardware evaluation and recommendation for management review.

* Other duties as assigned.
