As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be responsible for providing the business with sophisticated reporting and analytical services.  You will work with the executive and management teams to define our company’s need for performance metrics.  You will design, build and deploy solutions that will allow the business to create their own reports and, where necessary, will create reports for them.  You will be a part of a team that defines and maintains our “One Version of the Truth” in data services. Using agile methodologies, you will deliver and succeed on projects you can be proud of on a regular basis.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Receive and interpret specifications, priorities and deadlinesIdentify data sources, enhancements, and areas of work required to achieve the needs specifiedDesign, develop, document and maintain cubes based on specifications.Create/update user and technical documentation for our analytical and reporting tools.Complete test and deployment steps using development processBuild relationships with the source data owners and act as the liaison for analytics and reporting Provide and verify supporting information for reporting purposes by balancing reports to data sources and historical dataCreate and maintain a reporting process to capture accomplishments, work in progress, challenges, opportunities, and risk for all engineering initiatives


Required skills, education and experience:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experienceStrong knowledge of Relational Database theory, XML, database query optimization (indexing) and object oriented programming - OOPExperience building ETL processes for a data warehouseStrong understanding of dimensional modelingExperience working with a business team to define requirements for a BI/DW initiativeExperience using SQL Server 2005 tools (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS) to manage a business intelligence data storeExperience using Visual Studio 2005 and C# as a professional developerMust be familiar with security issues around deployment of reporting services and cubesComfortable writing complex stored procedures and functionsComfortable with query optimization against large SQL Server databasesAbility to work well in a team in collaboration with developers Minimum 5 years working in business intelligence environments 

Preferred Experience:Experience providing data to be consumed using Microsoft Excel.Track record of successful implementations as a key developer in multiple BI/DW initiativesAdvanced XML data management skillsAdvanced Analytics design and developmentSharepoint web part development experienceSearch-engine marketing analysis experience

 

Successful candidates will have solid oral and written communication, problem solving, and project management skills. They must be resourceful and quick learners, and display the ability to understand both business and technological issues. The ability to actively manage project tasks, resources and deadlines are essential.
