Business Analyst / 356 Position Description:Business Analyst – A team player who works towards improving business processes and supports critical business strategies by supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of business applications systems. Performs as a liaison between business units and IT department in order to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems. Coordinates the analysis and design of business systems. Takes ownership of their work and strives to promote exceptional work ethics. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Will be responsible for successfully translating business requirements into design and drive system development and processes. Expected to maintain and adhere to company-wide and departmental polices, standards, operational guidelines, and administrative procedures relating to IT functions.Responsibilities include:• Work directly with related business and IT teams to define technical solutions that drive business processes • Create and maintain business requirements for assigned development or enhancement projects. • Maintain technical knowledge of IT technologies in general and particularly those used by this organization • Demonstrate, share and apply knowledge of organizational IT technologies when providing opinion/assistance in the resolution of technical issues • Able to work in a cross-functional team sharing responsibilities while maintaining accountability • Assist with leading and directing the implementation and development initiatives • Gather and assess strategic and operational project status, issues, risks and dependencies • Work closely with other departments to anticipate changes in functionality and priorities • Coordinate with other technical staff and business areas to develop quality functionality • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the needs of a specified account/client from a business and technical perspective • Serve as a liaison to business user groups, customers and the IT group • Help build business knowledge within the organization and educate business users on related system applications • Coordinate production support activities as necessary including software installation, testing and deployment Qualifications:• Minimum Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Admin or equivalent • Experience overseeing multiple and large scope projects • Minimum 3 years of business/ finance/ computer analyst and/or related experience • Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills • Proficient in the use of SQL and MS Office • Ability to learn quickly about a new business problem • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and meet deadlines but still maintain attention to details • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently in a complex, matrixed environment • Experience working with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical • Experience with current project management tools/skills a plus • Sharp analytical and problem solving skills on a variety of software applications • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required • Experience working on high impact cross-functional teams • Knowledge and experience in information systems design and analysis including familiarity of system limitations • Strong customer relations skills • Requires a structured, process-oriented problem solving mentality • Self-motivated with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills • Good English language skills • Ability to manage time effectively and self directed • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities
