Senior Marketing Manager - North America

We are looking for a Sr. Marketing Manager, North America. The position is based in the Bluetooth SIG headquarters of Bellevue, Wash., but you will coordinate and work with our global staff and 11,000 members. We are a global technology standards organization developing, marketing and licensing the Bluetooth brand and Bluetooth wireless technology.

The Senior Marketing Manager – North America - guides the US marketing team to successfully execute and measure the effectiveness of programs, and implement new programs as needed. The Sr. Marketing Manager will participate in setting the strategy for the entire organization as well as Bluetooth wireless technology and help execute global marketing plans. This person will act as a spokesperson for the region providing information on Bluetooth SIG programs and Bluetooth wireless technology to press, analyst, Bluetooth SIG members and at industry events. This position works closely with our marketing and member relations teams in EMEA and APAC to coordinate messaging and strategy. This position reports to the Bluetooth SIG Global Marketing Director.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage the North American marketing team

• Interface and coordinate programs with the EMEA and APAC marketing teams

• Execute on global strategy, messaging & ensure US marketing team is the lead resource for other regions

• Oversee external agencies such as PR, advertising and research firms

• Evaluate industry research, market conditions, competitor data and implement  marketing plan as appropriate

• Develop marketing strategies for Bluetooth SIG tools and programs to meet organizational objectives

• Plan and carry out direct marketing activities

• Act as spokesperson for the Bluetooth SIG at events and with media and analysts

• Manage the budget and resources for operations and marketing programs in North America

• Craft  relevant messaging for multiple segments including technical and market related data

• Implement programs to increase consumer awareness of Bluetooth technology

• Work closely with Bluetooth SIG members to ensure technology changes are understood and implemented in new markets and product categories

 

Qualifications and Skills

The Sr. Marketing Manager position requires a relevant 4 year degree, with an MBA preferred, as well as 10+ years related work experience. The successful candidate must have strong managerial experience as well as public relations experience. Must be able to manage budgets and draft marketing & communications plans. Work experience in the wireless industry is preferred. Travel is required.

 

Key Role Interactions

Key interactions are with Bluetooth SIG member companies.  These consist of a diverse cross-section of end product manufacturers and OEMs from silicon chip makers and mobile device manufacturers to industries as diverse as automotive technology, consumer electronics and personal computing. This position interacts with counterparts in EMEA and APAC on the marketing and member relations side, as well as with online and technical teams.

 

Interpersonal Skills

This position requires a self-driven, results-oriented individual with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality. The position requires a natural forward planner who critically assesses their own performance. You must be a clear communicator, and able to see things from the other person's point of view. It is helpful if you are keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability. Must be a team-player. Must be able to communicate and motivate via written media as well as an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator.
