Program Manager -- thePlatform Seattle, WA
thePlatform, a subsidiary of Comcast and the industry-leading provider of broadband video management and publishing solutions, is hiring a Program Manager to work within our product development group as a technical product owner.
thePlatform helps content providers, video sites, and mobile businesses solve their unique media publishing requirements. Our proven media management and publishing technology services scale with our customers' operations and support their business model with an open, versatile approach to providing an ideal technical solution for their needs.
- As a technical product owner in an agile development process, work with the development team to establish overall product vision, create user stories, manage and prioritize the product backlog, participate in daily scrums and meta-scrums, and validate delivered software.
- Gather product requirements from customers, marketing, and the steering committee and write specifications for thePlatform's web services and software.
- Work with project manager and development team to create and maintain product roadmap, track schedule against the roadmap, and escalate risks and issues.
- Maintain communication with stakeholders, including professional services, development teams, marketing, upper management, and external customers as needed.
- Coordinate across multiple development teams as needed.
- Help create and review technical documentation and transition finished projects to the support and deployment teams.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of rich media and content management.
- Strong technical program management experience and some experience developing against an SDK.
- Understanding of and experience with the full software development lifecycle, including functional and technical specifications, implementation, QA processes, deployment and maintenance.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Keen attention to detail and high level of commitment.
- Understanding of design patterns and web services technologies, including SOAP and related standards.
- Proficiency in Java, Flex, .NET, C#, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, and/or XML a plus.
