Data Architect / 402 Position Description:Lead Data ArchitectAre you passionate about data modeling? APS Healthcare is looking for a seasoned Data Architect to fill a crucial new role in the IT organization. The Lead Data Architect is responsible for overall design, architecture and implementation of the Operational Data Store (ODS) as well as data modeling and/or analysis for operational source systems. They will serve as the data custodian for the business units in understanding business semantics and developing and meeting APS operational systems’ goals. The Lead Data Architect will work closely with the Data Warehouse Architect to ensure the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and data marts are part of the integrated EDW solution. They will also work with the Information Services team to establish and maintain the ODS, delivering data models, data diagrams, data flows and data dictionary documentation. This position reports directly to the Systems Services Manager and is based in our Brookfield, WI location.Responsibilities: • Lead the design of the overall Enterprise Data Architecture • Develop ODS data models (logical and physical) • Convert business requirements into logical data models • Data Dictionary design and documentation • Develop ODS and data model deliverables and documentation • Responsible for data movement processes and master data management • Support ETL/Application development lifecycle • Perform source system analysis from the operational systems • Provide subject matter expertise in Enterprise Data Architecture, ODS, EDW and BI Qualification/Requirements:• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent experience• Minimum of four years in enterprise data modeling• Proven success in designing, developing, and implementing ODS and enterprise data models.• Strong experience with data modeling software/CASE tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, IBM Data Architect, etc.• Strong knowledge of relational (3NF) and dimensional data modeling concepts• Experience with ETL tools such as PowerCenter, SSIS or Data Integrator• Experience with data cleansing and data quality techniques and strategies• Experience with a variety of DBMSs and OLAP Servers• Understanding of BI architectures• Team-player able to work closely with both technical teams and business users• Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects and rapidly changing priorities
