Senior Accountant

As member of Corporate Accounting team, senior accountant is primarily responsible for preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations and analysis, and preparing schedules for internal and external reporting and external auditors for assigned areas. This position will report to Corporate Accounting Manager responsible for worldwide financial close. In addition, responsibilities will include the following:
Ownership and streamline of assigned accounting processes Prepare balance sheet and income statement analytics for assigned areas by identifying and explaining key changes in the movement of account balances Assist with preparation and review of month, quarter and year-end financial statements Assist with SOX 404 documentation and testing for assigned processes Assist with documenting, creating, developing and maintaining policies and procedures Actively seek out and contribute to accuracy and efficiency improvements in the close process (i.e. process improvement, automation, etc) Assist with system upgrades for financial systems as needed Active participation in special projects as assigned
Assigned areas may include Treasury accounting (e.g., recording cash and hedging entries and intercompany settlement), Equity accounting (e.g., recording stock-based compensation and other stock-related entries and preparing equity rollforward and other stock-related reconciliations), global restructuring accounting, recording of routine accruals, chargebacks, amortizations, and allocations for R&D, sales, marketing, and administrative functions, and preparation of schedules for external reporting (e.g., segment reporting, foreign exchange rate impact analysis).
This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices in a multi-national corporate environment, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively interact with various finance groups across the company.Requirements: Education and Experience Requirements: BS/BA in Accounting or equivalent CPA or CMA preferred Prior experience in related areas of 3 - 5 years Knowledge of company financial systems (Oracle 11i General Ledger and Oracle Financial Analyzer) desirable
