IT ManagerDescription: Position Purpose: Manage the planning and execution of information systems across multiple IT functions in a print distribution and production print and mail operation. Provides the leadership and direction to the IT staff aligning them with business unit objectives. This position is REQUIRING all qualified candidates to have a very solid background in software development.Qualified candidates MUST have worked in a production or distribution environment.Dimensions: Value of Programming:Types of Hardware Serviced (PC &/or Mainframe): MidRange Intel based servers and related PC hardware in a Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/2003 server environment. Additionally, a RedHat Linux Intel based server supporting the company enterprise software platform.Types of Programming Languages or Operating Systems Used: Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP/2003, RedHat Linux ES4, Microsoft VB 6 and .Net, Visual Foxpro, Microsoft SQL Server 7, 2000, Microsoft IIS 6.0, ASP 2.0 Volt is a Equal Opportunity EmployerRequirements: Responsibilities:YOU MUST HAVE IT MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE IN EITHER A PRODUCTION OR DISTRIBUTION ENVIRONMENT. If you do not have this experience, you will not be considered for this position. 1. Consults with management to determine hardware, software, network, and operations needs.2. Manage the development and implementation of internal or external customer software and support.3. Consults with staff to determine the hardware, data communications, computer operations, PC software, and other requirements associated with development projects.4. Establishes policies, procedures, and standards with regard to hardware, software, network, operation systems, and other media.5. Manages the configuration and installation of communications networks, hardware, and software within a LAN/WAN environment. 6. Recommends hardware and/or software solutions for short-range problems, and to support long range technology planning.7. Maintain involvement in the business continuity, disaster recovery, and testing process.8. Hires, fires, and evaluates IT staff.9. Coordinate the activities of the IT staff.10. Responsible for physical and electronic security of the facilities, systems, and data.11. Provides input and justification for project costs, capital expenditures, and budgets.12. Generally manages multiple IT functions such as network administration, programming, technical support, enterprise system platform, production systems, etc. 13. Responsible for developing and maintaining the department budget to be in alignment with the company goals.14. Performs other duties as required.Position QualificationsEducation: BA or BS or equivalent, Masters preferred.Job Related Experience: Typically requires 7-10 years of progressive IT experience, preferably in a print and/or mail distribution environment. Management Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years experience in progressive IT management, preferably in a print and/or mail distribution environment.
