Design Verification Engineer (Audio EE)

As engineer on product development teams candidate will be required to contribute to project teams applying a basic level of hardware system design knowledge in the interaction of device firmware, standard computer interfaces such USB, software drivers and operating systems. 

This person will work both on a project team as lead audio test engineer as well as with the audio test functional group in further developing audio test capability and competency.

Work within project team will include developing product test plans and performance metrics from end user requirements, system specifications and to generate detail test procedures to verify audio subsystem through each phase of the program.  Candidate will be expected to conduct design risk analyses and provide feedback and recommend design modifications in the audio design to improve performance. 

While helping with the audio test team, the engineer will need to help drive equipment and test practice development for the audio lab.  Person should have knowledge of standards and test and measurement practices in the audio industry to ensure relevance and standardization in test practices. 

 

 Solid electrical engineering and data analysis practices will be required throughout the product cycle including:  review and understanding of industry standard specifications for interfaces; product specification review, design analysis, performing risk analysis and developing contingency plans, participating in design reviews and performing verification of audio design functionality.

Candidates should have excellent leadership skills; drive to solve technical issues and a passion for delivering world class products. Applicant will function as a development team member through the development cycle and will be responsible for creating complete design verification plans and schedules; architecting new tests and techniques while tracking tasks against deliverables and project milestones; and communicating product performance information to the extended technical and business team. 

Strong skill-sets in analysis and problem solving as well as communication are required.  Candidate should be a team player capable of delivering in a collaborative work environment. Candidates must also be able to travel internationally.

Minimum Qualifications:A BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related degree with relevant experience.Experience in design verification of high volume consumer electronic devices.5+ years of work experience demonstrating fundamental knowledge of audio engineering- including signal types, standard processing, equipment, recording techniques, and general audio listening skills. Familiar with current industry testing techniques for audio, at acoustic and electronic levels.  Has used or worked with AP, BK or other similar audio test equipment.Ability to demonstrate a strong skill-set in analytical problem solving, a history of increasing responsibilities and decision-making experience.Working knowledge of Visual Basic or C/C++ and MATLAB to create test scripts.
