This technical lead position is responsible for the design, development, implementation, management, and support of mission-critical enterprise business intelligence (BI) reporting environments. Duties include: Performing business analysis and gathering system requirements. Translating business requirements into data models that drive data warehouse or data mart design and configuration. Using BI tools to present reports to thousands of external users across hundreds of client companies via the Internet. Providing 24x7 support to ensure the availability of BI environments for both external and internal users.Performing these duties with moderate to low supervision.*Volt is an equal opportunity employer* Requirements: Provide periodic consulting services to stakeholders seeking data analysis and reporting solutions.Provide technical assistance to other BI team members. Work with cross-functional teams to gather, document, and approve business requirements for data analysis and reporting projects.Use BI and database tools to develop reporting and/or ETL solutions to meet business needs. Design, develop and implement the reporting and analysis environment, including canned and parameterized reports.Design, develop and implement data integration (ETL) processes to transform unstructured and disparate source data into the target data warehouse or data marts.Design and develop data models that reflect the various business processes.Implement and maintain BI systems that support feature development and testing.Provide 24x7 support for various BI environmentsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBA/BS in Computer Science or related field; or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.5 - 8 years overall work experience as a technical contributor in an IT setting5 - 7 years experience implementing enterprise-scale reporting systems using business intelligence tools such as Cognos, Business Objects, Microstrategy, etc.5 - 7 years Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) experience using Informatica, stored procedures, or Microsoft DTS.Minimum 2 years experience working with users in a requirements analysis roleExtensive use of SQL and RDBMS systems (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)Extensive experience with data warehouse implementations.Strong knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts.Strong knowledge of Web scripting and technologies (HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, VBScript).Strong knowledge of OLAP data modeling designs and techniques.Strong knowledge of the system and data security mechanisms required for external presentation of client-segregated reports and analytics via the InternetProficiency with software code configuration systems, such as Visual SourceSafe.Proficiency with defect tracking tools.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.The ability to work well in a team environment.Location: Spokane, WA Type: CONTRACT Duration: Temp to Hire Pay Rate: DOE Contact: Volt Technical Resources Volt Workforce Solutions1420 N.
