PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR Join a world class $1.5 billion/yr manufacturing firm in Portland Oregon. This company leads the world in their niche in the home furnishings industry. The firm has more than doubled in size over the last eight years and continues to grow at a dynamic rate. The firm is committed to both maintaining its North American leadership and to profitably develop and attain a global market leadership position. The third shift Production Supervisor will supervise factory personnel in plant manufacturing activities in such a manner that approved quality products are manufactured and/or delivered on schedule and within prescribed specifications and cost requirements.  Directs work group to assure on time production. Selects and trains employees to produce at standard and above standard efficiency. Responsible for maintaining quality standards. Responsible for teaching safe work practices, good housekeeping procedures and seeing they are adhered to. Responsible for having machines and/or equipment kept in good repair. Responsible for maintaining high employee morale and positive relationships. Responsible for accuracy of required administrative reports and record keeping. Recommends equipment or layout changes, production methods or material handling procedures. Responsible for controlling absenteeism, scrap and waste. Frequent contact with office staff giving and/or receiving information. Preferred SkillsLean or 5-S experience.  Experience in supervising others and maintaining efficient productive work groups.  Mechanical and mathematical skills sufficient for solving plant problems, skills in developing, communicating and maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with and among employees. This position reports to the Plant Manager. The plant has about 100 employees and generates revenues of about $30M/yr, the company’s revenues are about $1.4B/yr and they are number 1 in the world in their nitch in the Household Furnishings industry. This position supervises about 20 to 30 workers. RequirementsMust have an Associates or four year degree and experience supervising manufacturing personnel in a plant setting. This is a night shift position (11PM to 7AM), night shift differential. Base pay ranges from $45 to $52K/yr, plus a potential bonus of 10% to 20%, a great 401K program where the company contribution requires no employee match and has been consistently ranging from 6% to 10% annually.
