Apparel Merchandiser and Garment Merchandiser (2 openings)

 

 

Primary Function

l  Managing sales of the garments for the assigned accounts.

l  Exercise the best efforts and utmost diligence to maximize the sales and profit. 

l  Manage the fabric research and developments. 

l  Responsible for effectively managing the preproduction garment development as well as the bulk garment production for the assigned customers to achieve the target gross profit, required quality level and on-time delivery goals.

l  Serve as the team leader for each assigned account.

 

 

Fabric research and Development

l  Research Fabric Trend seasonally to merchandise & present the fabric collection to each assigned customer.

l  Manage the fabric developments - follow up on the approval process including all lab dips, tailoring yardage inquiries, and sample yardage production

l  Ensure the fabric development to be executed properly to meet the target deadline of the garment samples.

l  Coordinate the seasonal sampling with the suppliers to have collections ready before the season starts to present to clients at the appropriate timing

l  Communicate the clear status to the production coordinator to further proceed with the bulk production

 

 

Garment merchandising and Sales

l  Identify and evaluate possible factories for specific/new programs or clients.

l  Partner with the technical team to manage the pre production samples.

l  Negotiate the cost with the factories and assigned accounts and confirm orders with them both.

l  Manage the costing to achieve the gross profit goal.

l  Negotiate with factories on critical order/production specifications, e.g. delivery date

l  Keep the manager abreast with the issues as they arise.

 

 

 

Position Requirements:

l  Bachelors degree, or equivalent, and 2+ years experience in Fabric or Garment business

l  Strong leadership capabilities

l  Detail oriented, with strong follow through skills

l  Strong communication, presentation, negotiating and influencing skills

l  Ability to work in a team environment

l  Strong fashion sense, with a sense of Brand and client needs

l  Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Must be able to WORK ALOT OF OVERTIME!
