Bayer MaterialScience – Where VisionWorks.ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibility of this role, as Reliability Expert, is to facilitate and implement best practices for reliability and maintenance (GEO4) in close cooperation with the reliability/plant engineers in the Business Units. The Reliability Expert is concerned with the support of the Business Units to introduce state-of-the art preventive and predictive maintenance techniques, to provide expertise how to conduct defect eliminations, to provide direction on proper planning and scheduling of maintenance work, to ensure SAP work processes critical to GEO4 are in place. The Reliability Expert function is generally performed through directing or supporting/assisting the activities of the individuals and groups with assigned responsibility for reliability/maintenance activities.The incumbent will: - Assume accountability for achieving the reliability improvement objectives as defined by the Business Units and agreed upon in the Technical Council; - Champion the use of the Bayer Material Science Reliability/Maintenance Process (GEO4); - Implement lessons learned from defect eliminations/best practices in the interest of continuous improvement; - Act as the interface between the reliability/plant engineers and the Technical Council; - Act as the focal point for reliability concept development and implementation based on agreed upon priorities with the BU’s; - Act as the steward of the reliability improvement process to remove barriers to success and stimulate teamwork between the reliability experts in the Business Units; - Surface issues that have a potential negative impact on the reliability improvement activities to the Technical Council; - Ensure maintenance/reliability personnel are trained properly in the application of the GEO4 methodologies; - Institute management systems for development and control of reliability improvement projects and maintenance efficiency improvement projects; - Address non-compliance issues with the appropriate department representative or individual; - Leads post reliability improvement project audit evaluation. QualificationsThe selected candidate will possess: - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; - Ten (10) or more years of experience in Engineering/maintenance background in the Process Industry; - Strong conflict resolution skills; - Strong understanding of planning & scheduling practices; - Capability of Improving the knowledge and skills of self and others; - Capability of gathering information, assessing alternate solutions and consequences, and implementing solutions in collaboration with the Business Units; - Teamwork skills; - Strong leadership skills; - Good organizational skills; - Strong written and oral communication; - Working knowledge and experience with predictive/preventive maintenance techniques, multiple engineering disciplines related to the process industry - SAP experienceBayer Benefits We offer a wide variety of competitive compensation and benefit programs.
