We are currently seeking an ambitious, talented R&D Analytical Chemist to join the Intermediates Research and Development Group based in Orange, TX. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry and experience in industrial process chemistry, organic chemistry and catalyst characterization. Responsibilities: The responsibilities for this job may include, but are not limited to: *Developing, validating and implementing Analytical Methods. *Developing written procedures, methods, and documentation required to train technicians in the performance of routine analysis, equipment calibration and maintenance, statistical analysis of data, and editing reports. *Maintaining written records of experiments and documenting developments in periodic reports. *Working independently, one-on-one with Work Area Leader, and as a member of a larger team. *Effectively directing others in the application of analytical techniques, and collaborating with other researchers in solving problems. Qualifications: *Completed Ph.D. or a Ph.D. candidate in Analytical Chemistry with at least 4 years relevant, hands-on analytical instrument experience required (during graduate studies or post graduate industrial). Ph.D. must be completed prior to reporting to work. *Knowledge and experience with of a broad range of analytical chemistry techniques, both theoretical and functional. A working knowledge of gas and liquid chromatography (GC and HPLC) required. *Knowledge of sample preparation techniques used in gas and liquid chromatography, such as Extraction, SPE, SPME, liquid and gas stream sampling, preferred. *Solid knowledge of organic and/or organometallic chemistry. *The individual must also possess good planning, organizational, verbal and written communications skills.
