Process Engineer

MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES:

 Provide process support to Plant Engineering activities, usually involving preparation of major Appropriation Requests or execution of detailed engineering of projects.

 Design improvements to production capacity, efficiency, process safety, safety, and environmental performance, involving complex designs for major changes or new units with impact of up to 3 million dollars.

 Work with support teams to monitor unit operations, correct problems, and assist in improvements, usually for special problems or projects.

 Provide process support to Environmental activities, for major designs and permitting requirments.  Performs calculations for environmental incidents and RCAs.

 Lead PSRs and PHAs on new installations and modifications to existing operations.  Review completed PHAs.

 Communicate and document process engineering activities in unit support, design, plant engineering, environmental, and process safety support activities, with little or no review required.

 Support process units for advanced troubleshooting.

 Lead and support site EHS activities.

 Application of Six Sigma methodology in management of cost reduction and continuous improvement activities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of a BS in Chemical Engineering, Advanced degree considered a plus3+ years engineering experience in plant operationsCertification or interest in seeking certification as a Six Sigma Black/Green BeltEffective oral and written communications skillsHistory of positive resultsDemonstrated strategic thinking and business understandingFamiliar with Project management methodology a plus
