Huntsman has an immediate opening for a dynamic individual as a Maintenance Technician in our Maintenance, Engineering, SR&W Group located at our Huntsman Advanced Technology Center in The Woodlands, Texas.

 

The Maintenance Technician will perform, safely and efficiently, maintenance and repairs on the facilities electrical and instrumentation systems ensuring that all work is completed within industrial standards and codes.

 

Key AccountabilitiesTroubleshoots instrument and electrical systemsLay out and installs new electrical, instrumentation and other systems including (mechanical) installation, wiring, instruments, switches, etc.Dismantles electrical and instrumentation machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanicalInstalls and maintains various types of motors, lighting fixtures, instruments, circuit breakers and other plan equipmentInstalls and monitors performance of installed electrical and instrumentation equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacementInterprets prints, works from work order, sketches and verbal instructionsRepairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instrumentsTroubleshoots and repairs electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controlsEnsures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practicesUses and participates in maintaining computerized safety efforts and adhere to site safety rules and regulationsWork and assist all maintenance crafts as required.  This includes Instrument, Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, and PlumbingPerform labor and janitorial dutiesOversees contractors from varying crafts as requiredWrite Start Work and Hot Work permits for contractors or Huntsman personnelOrder materials using SAP and Helios

Educational Requirements and Work ExperienceHigh School diploma is required.  Associate degree preferred.A Texas Journeyman Electrician’s License or Texas Maintenance Electrical LicenseAssociates degree from the National Institute for Certifying Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level II  or Instrumentation Society of America (ISA) Level II preferredAt least 5 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified is required to be able to diagnose and repair electrical controls, instrumentation systems, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers

 Special Qualifications (Training, Technical Skills, etc.)Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.  Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applicationsAbility to discern colors for interpreting color coded trending and/or reading of color-coded plan instrumentationKnowledge of OSHA industrial safety regulations including electrical safety, safe work practices and lockout/tag out
