Maintenance Engineer – Chemical IndustryOverall DescriptionFor this growing chemical manufacturer, provide leadership in providing engineering & technical expertise to the Maintenance Department and other plant departments, enabling continuous plant operations and high efficiency. Along with being a generalist, serve as the technical specialist concerning industrial chemical processing involving large equipment and the co-generation of energy. This is an exceptional company and they truly value their employees.Requisites · Bachelor of Science Degree, Mechanical Engineer preferred. · 5+ years experience working in plant maintenance, with responsibilities involving industrial chemicals and larger equipment. · Clear communication skills, both verbal and written, and work effectively in a team environment.· Strong organizational skills, be detail oriented, and manage and prioritize multiple tasks.Responsibilities and Duties · Monitor equipment performance and make recommendations to improve reliability and reduce cost. · Provide cost estimating and engineering proposals on routine replacement of equipment to correct maintenance problems of for the improvement of processing equipment. Supervise installation of such equipment.· Provide technical support to production and maintenance organizations throughout the plant to evaluate and resolve maintenance problems. · Provide training to production, maintenance and other department in proper operation and care of equipment in area of expertise. Develop the necessary training as required. · Keep current on new technology and equipment and evaluate same for use in the plant. · Actively participate in plant's Health, Environmental, Safety and Security programs to assure a safe and environmentally sound workplace. · Have accountability for meeting plant safety goals and various other requirements including training, work permits, critical items inspections, job observations, housekeeping, reporting hazards and issues, and working safely in job assignments. · Actively participate in safety meetings and various other key programs while promoting safety through offering recommendations to other employees.
