HSE Specialist - MSDS
Kelly Scientific is seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Specialist with experience writing MSDS for our client in North Houston.This position is for a non-entry-level candidate with a few years of experience. This is not a manager level position.Key Job Responsibilities:* Responsible for preparation of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) in compliance with relevant global regulations and company policies. * Researches various regulatory and HSE requirements (chemical composition, hazard evaluation, fire protection, handling and storage requirements, selection of PPE, transportation classification, chemical inventory status, etc.).* Understands and is familiar with applicable international, federal and state regulations, such as IATA and IMDG.* Coordinates with the R&D labs, divisions and their suppliers to collect and determine adequacy of available information.* Uses software to prepare MSDS. Publishes finaldocuments for online viewing and use on the intranet.* Assists in other aspects of HSE regulatory compliance.Qualifications:* BS Degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, or other related field or proven experience in authoring MSDSs and chemistry experience. * Must have the ability to work in a team atmosphere and also independently. * Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written and be able to communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical personnel. * Needs the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.This is a direct hire position.
