Control Systems Engineer

Main Function:
Ensures that designs meet specifications.  Monitor the Control Systems design and construction to ensure that the company standards for safety and operability are met.  Assure compliance with standards for control systems. 
 
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
·  Leads the development of the control systems description;
·  Monitors the performance of the design contractor's CS design team;
·  Participates in VIP's;
·  Participates in the project risk management process
·  Participates in the Process Hazard Evaluation process;
·  Participates in the development of the control system philosophy;
·  Participates in the development of DCS configuration
·  Coordinates in the implementation of DCS configuration and graphics development.
·  Interfaces with Refinery forces in the upgrade and switchover of existing DCS systems to new Experion DCS System
·  Participates in the development of operation, maintenance and start-up philosophies;
·  Participates in planning for commissioning & start-up;
·  Reviews PSM & Management of Change documentation;
·  Assists in field inspections and flow sheet checkout;
·  Confirms compliance of process equipment to specifications;
·  Participates on system acceptance team
·  Participates on start-up team

 
 
 
Qualifications:
.  Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering
·  10+ years of major DCS project experience, Honeywell Experion DCS preferred
·  Has clearly demonstrated strong technical competence
·  Proven experience in administering key components of control systems execution plans, from sanction through execution and start-up.
·  Has working knowledge of all relevant engineering and construction codes and standards
·  Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment
·  Demonstrated interpersonal/teambuilding skills
·  Strong written and oral communication skills
Additional Information:Travel Percentage: 20%
