The Project Engineer for the CSPI business unit will:  manage, drive and document Continuous Improvement Projects (CI) to completion in a way that meets internal and external customer needs and ISO quality standards. Provide technical expertise to the CSPI organization on specialty areas and to internal and external customers on optimization of Flow Improver performance. Represent Engineering function on Business Unit wide project teams.
 
Responsibilities
 
The Project Engineer may be responsible for: 
Being a resource on Flow Improver expertise to the organization and our internal (ConocoPhillips) and external customers.Providing injection equipment expertise and specialized subjects (ex. instrumentation and controls, data-loggers, DVD, computer programming.)Chartering, managing and executing CI projects-design control and field testing.Developing and maintaining engineering standards, design guidelines, best practices (ex. prediction tool, nozzle spreadsheet.)Designing and testing new injection equipment.Understanding and implementing changes to equipment and best practices in reference to codes and regulations (i.e. Health Safety Environmental.)Improving organizational infrastructure and practices through the ISO Quality System. Expected travel is around 20-40%. It will fluctuate depending upon the requirements of the specific projects. CSPI has an aggressive growth strategy and our engineering staff will have the opportunity to participate in and lead cross-functional projects that could also involve other ConocoPhillips, business units.
 
Basic/Required Qualifications 
Bachelor's degree in EngineeringLegally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.One - two years of related work experience in a refinery and/or chemical plantPrioritizing: Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.  Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Project Management:  High level of initiative and energy.Problem solving; Creativity to find alternate solutions to traditional approaches.Customer focus and interpersonal relationship building (internal and external.)Proficiency in computer applications - MS Office (Excel, Word and Access.)Good communication skills (oral and written.)Outstanding teamwork and collaboration skills that drive timely, value added results.  Ability to influence across functional boundaries to get the projects completed.Cross-functional work skills (management, field operations, manufacturing plant and suppliers.)Work experience in Pipeline operations, engineering, or a projects group is a plusPrior work experience with hydraulic modeling programs is a plus.Understanding of Flow Improver industry is a plus
