Advisor - Supply Chain Strategy Job Title: Advisor – Supply Chain StrategyDepartment: Supply ChainLocation: Corporate BASIC FUNCTION: Project oriented job that develops optimization strategies to improve the company’s rail, truck, storage, and terminal logistics network.  Coordinates development of five-year cost for forecasting, project implementation, and designs for new IT solutions and technologies that support the company’s T&D commercial strategy and system initiatives. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  Optimize bulk terminal and packaging network by supervising data collection, build models, validate data, run experiments, economic analysis, present results to management. Coordinate development of annual five-year plan, freight and fleet budgets with the department’s accountant and help present to senior management and business analysts. Develop rail fleet sizing recommendations each year; develop strategies to minimize rail fleet cost. Create custom Access applications and computer programs that aid in rail fleet cost analysis, freight budgeting, rail transit time analysis, and railcar position. Develop project economic evaluations (IRR and NPV) and get management buy-in on key decisions. Supervise design and implementation of new business warehouse IT projects that enable back-office to accommodate various commercial strategies.  Design new BW queries to enable better KPI tracking. Develop rail rate competitive benchmarking studies using URCS costing methodology and waybill databases. Supervise and validate annual Townsend data collection process. Develop strategic master plan when required by senior management. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor’s Degree required (Business or Engineering); MBA preferred. 7-15 years experience in logistics. Experience with a linear programming tool such as CAPS preferred. Requires advanced Microsoft Access skills (queries, reports) and strong Business Warehouse query design skills. Requires advanced Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, best practices), and Microsoft PowerPoint skills.
