Huntsman has an immediate need for an Analytical Chemist at its McIntosh, Alabama, Advanced Materials manufacturing site.  This position will report to Analytical and Quality Control Manager. 

 

Key Responsibilities: Oversees the preparation of A/QC quality documentation, including verification of accuracy.Maintains the storage of both paper and electronic records critical to A&QC operation.Schedules department training and conducts ISO/TS and document control training for A&QC personnel.Manages sample retention and customer complaint function of A&QC.Serve as backup to LIMS Administrator.Perform analytical testing and methods development. (DSC, physical testing, Titrations, etc).Comply with all safety, health, and environmental requirements.

Education Requirements and Work History

 

BS in Chemistry with 3 years analytical laboratory experience. 

 

Special Requirements & Qualifications

 Position requires excellent computer skills with word processing and spreadsheets.Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.Experience in Differential Scanning Calorimetry and thermal analysis.Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems and SAP a plus.Knowledge of ISO9001 and TS16949.Knowledge of the application of statistical tools to manufacturing and quality processes.Supervisory/management/people skills in a team environment.Good problem solving and decision analysis skills required.Must have the ability to work independently and be self-motivated.Physical demands include but are not limited to climbing stairs and ladders; periods of walking and standing, bending and stooping.
