The position will be assigned a group of 5 to 8 salespeople to manage, including a mix of BDMs, CDMs, Combos and RAMs. This position will provide leadership and sales management for new business development and account management activities within an identified sales territory. The incumbent will be accountable for the development, management and execution of a multi-level sales plan designed to attain revenue growth and business retention goals. This position includes direct responsibility for the performance of his/her assigned sales people. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or Transportation is or 8 (eight) years of job related experience is required Minimum of 7 (seven) years of industry sales or sales management experience required. Willingness to relocate to assume the Director of Sales position at the conclusion of the Manager of Sales assignment. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: - Graduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Key Competencies: - Motivating/Directing others - Drive for results - Customer focus - Business Acumen - Managing vision and purpose RESPONSIBILITIES: Specifically the Manager of Sales will be held accountable for the following: Directing, managing and developing a multi-level sales force capable of developing, growing and retaining accounts in the areas of maintenance services, insurance and commercial business to ensure the achievement of sales and retention goals. Will need to plan, organize, direct and provide leadership to achieve the short and long term business growth and retention objectives. Will need to ensure the delivery of Ryder's value proposition to customers and prospects through direct interaction with financial executives, or through his/her sales team Ensure the development and implementation of strategic and tactical marketing initiatives for assigned territory Posses the ability to develop and lead the execution of processes and sales activities designed to retain and grow current customers Interface with Ryder's customers and prospects to ensure the maximum development of opportunities associated with the full breadth of Ryder's products and services Ensure knowledge of competitor's strengths and weaknesses and manage execution of competitive strategy Ensure the achievement of growth and retention
