Environmental Engineer
NTS, Inc. (a growing and diverse environmental testing and consulting firm) www.netechnical.com is seeking a qualified candidate to assist with industrial/environmental permit compliance projects. The entry-level, permanent position is open immediately in the central Wisconsin area, with opportunity for advancement. The position will be a combination of field and office work, and if desired, could later be transferred to one of our Minnesota offices.
A qualified candidate will have a broad coursework in environmental science, with a strong background in chemistry (water chemistry and air quality, preferably). Knowledge of environmental permitting and industrial processes is a plus.
The successful candidate would be responsible for assisting with managing a major mill industrial site and associated environmental programs and permits as noted below:
1) Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan with employee training and spill reporting
2) Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan
3) Site management and reporting requirements as detailed in the Title V Air Operating Permit
4) Fugitive Dust Control Plan
5) Facility Hazardous Waste Disposal and training
6) Manage manufacturing byproducts for beneficial re-use – i.e. lime and sawdust
7) Recyclables
8) Report SARA chemicals – Superfund Amendment and Reauthorization Act Tier II – Community Right to Know, Section 313 Reporting
9) Work with the municipal POTW Superintendent – sanitary discharge must comply with municipal pre-treatment limits
10)Use best management concepts to correct deficiencies when recognized to prevent re-occurrence of environmental incidents
11)Communicating effectively with NTS Managers regarding project status
