District Manager

As a District Manager for the Ace Hardware Corporation, you will be responsible for the core of our business - working one-on-one with consumers across the nation. As a member of Ace's field team, you'll interact directly with our retailers and their associates to help Ace in our mission to be the most helpful hardware store on the planet. By building detailed business plans with our store owners and helping them execute them, you'll be shaping the future growth and success of the organization.Ace has an excellent opportunity for a District Manager to serve in a consultative capacity and partner with our Ace retailers with the end goal of maximizing their retail success and organizational effectiveness. The selected candidate will advise on all store operational issues, formulate competitive strategies and consult on financial management.Key Responsibilities include: Analyze, evaluate and consult with Ace retailers on their store condition, financial performance and achievement of cooperative execution of a retail improvement plan incorporating elements such as: proforma, budget, and cash flow analysis Train and actively assist all new store owners in the Ace Way of Retailing to ensure achieve a balanced scorecard of retail metrics Lead retailers on the advantages of upgrading their position in the market through branch locations, retrofits, relocations and expansions by evaluating their current facility, market share and capabilities Develop and facilitate Ace retailer groups as a means to leverage the synergies of working together to achieve greater overall market acceptance and dominance, particularly in developing retail best practices and effective advertising & marketing programs Train and implement Ace Retail Technology applications The successful candidate will have: B.S. / B.A. Degree in business administration or commensurate experience is required Five years of successful retail management experience, multi unit experience preferred, including a thorough understanding of the full range of retail operating functions Proven ability to motivate and develop retail staff at all levels Excellent written & verbal communication skills Proven track record of leadership experience in a retail environment Strong time & expense management skills / Results oriented Excellent PC skills including a working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook Ability to travel overnight as required depending on the needs of the territory Must be able to work flexible hoursAce Hardware Corporation has grown to become the nation's leading 'helpful hardware' retailer-owned cooperatives with more than 4,600 domestic and international Ace stores, and 14 U.S. distribution centers.
