Manages development and execution of Data Architecture Strategy outlining how data will be defined, stored and accessed (e.g. data distribution, data access strategies, data locking, data synchronization, meta data). ? Works with the technical architects and application designers to define data conversion requirements and to design conversion procedures. ? Responsible for designing tables to hold data in support of applications being designed including conceptual, logical, physical data models as represented in an entity relationship diagram. ? Manages installation of database software including creation of databases and tables, and performance of ongoing maintenance (e.g. database backup and recovery, nightly reorganizations, index maintenance, performance tuning). ? Leads team to develop design and overall strategy for how data will be defined, stored and accessed (e.g. multi-site replication, data distribution, data access strategies, data locking, data synchronization, meta data, data archive). ? Facilitates working sessions to obtain input from technical specialists, customers, end users, technical architect, and application designers to define the data requirements and structure for the application. ? Work with other architects to ensure that all components work together to meet objectives and performance goals as defined in the requirements. ? Leads Data Modeling data modeling effort in support of applications being designed including conceptual, logical, physical data models. ? Leads team to create and install database software (e.g. Oracle) and to address all aspects of database administration including recoverability, integrity, security, availability, reliability, and performance.Strong problem solving skills with no less than 5 years experience designing and implementing large-scale 24X7 Hot-failover Oracle database environments. Expertise with database replication, failover and fault resistant implementation needed.
