Business Applications Tester - Health Claims (TPA/Employee Benefits)

We are currently seeking experienced Business Applications Testers to support our migration to a new health claims processing system.  You will perform software testing and certify that system applications and functionality are in accordance with Company guidelines, business requirements, client needs, and compliance requirements.  If you are a more experienced Tester, you will be a Senior level Tester and have responsibility for more complex testing and projects. 

 

Responsibilities include:

1.  Performing testing tasks, including designing, developing and executing test plans, tests cases and test scripts to validate that system functionality meets business and internal requirements. 

2.  Planning, scheduling and evaluating test data for client conversions, system implementations, and ongoing system enhancements/releases.

3.  Reviewing, organizing and analyzing test results and documents findings.

4.  Developing and maintaining modifications to existing test cases and scripts based on business and client requirements.

5.  Approving promotion of application changes to the end user for user acceptance.

6.  Interacting with IT Programmers and Business Systems Analysts on resolution of application testing issues. 

7.  Providing technical support, training, and problem resolution to end users.

8.  Performing other similar and related duties as required.

9.  For Senior level position – will also be performing additional, more complex testing and project responsibilities, and acting as a resource for other Testers and management.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

1.  Vocational or other technical school, certification, training or apprenticeship required beyond high school.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.

2.  2 to 3 years of health care claims processing or claims system experience, including report generation and data analysis. 

3.  Must have excellent attention to detail, problem solving skills, follow-through and strong verbal/written communication skills. 

4.  Proven ability to work independently and deliver results.

5.  Basic to intermediate PC skills (i.e. Word and Excel) required. 

 

In addition, the Senior level candidate will have 3 to 5 years of health care claims processing and/or claims system related experience, including testing of business systems applications and/or system functionality, experience using automated testing tools and strong analytical skills..
