Vice President Digitial Media

BELO, a leading television station and web site operator, is seeking a vice-president of digital media.  The VP Digital Media will be responsible for managing and coordinating the development, strategy and execution of functions applicable to Belo’s wireless platforms and interactive sites.   Through a distributed management model, this person will be accountable for monetizing Belo’s digital space including seeking out and/or developing new business models, assessing the performance of company interactive sites/ products and functioning as first point of contact for outside vendors working with BELO.

 

 Specific responsibilities include:

 

v Collaborating with senior corporate management, operating unit general managers and local site managers to establish and execute a unified vision for digital media across Belo;

 

v Effectively representing Belo interests with industry organizations and harnessing industry relationships to build value for Belo;

 

v Providing day-to-day operational leadership to Belo’s site managers and general managers to achieve specific station revenue and audience goals.

 

v Collaborating within the company, the business development group and using outside vendors; identify, prioritize and launch the most significant new growth opportunities for Belo’s digital space.

 

 

Experience Profile The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of overall business experience and 5+ years of proven general management experience of an Internet or interactive multimedia property.  Qualified candidates will have managed and grown P&Ls in the $10M - $50M range.  Strong candidates will have demonstrated the ability to drive top line audience usage and revenue growth through new product development/innovation.  Proven analytical and financial planning experience that supports business modeling and opportunity gap evaluation is required.  Executives with a strong process orientation as it relates to product development, evaluation and implementation will likely be a good fit.  Importantly, qualified candidates will have experience working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Education  An undergraduate degree is required.  An MBA or advanced degree in a related discipline from a leading educational institution is highly preferred.
