Responsibilities & Opportunities: Identify opportunities and initiate action that will enhance operating profit through better pricing, profit mix, processes, or resource management. Provide ongoing analysis of the historical financial results with particular emphasis on opportunities that can lead to changes that will have a positive impact on business performance. Support business units with aggregate annual revenues representing at least 10% of Labs North America’s total revenue. Examine financial performance, investigate opportunities for profit enhancement. Direct the focus of others to problem areas. Regularly analyze and forecast business unit revenue and expenses on an aggregate and cost center basis. Manage semi-annual budgeting process requirements with business units, including coordination of target setting, presentation of forecasts to Senior management for approval, and timely submission of final targets to Corporate. Support business unit growth and ongoing capital needs by way of capital investment analysis and coordination of CER submission. Work with Sales Analyst on price/volume/mix models that help explain business performance and predict future business performance. Work with business unit managers to identify key non-financial performance metrics that are accurate measures of ongoing business efficiency and that aid in predicting future performance. Work with VP Sales, as necessary to help build business models driven by customer needs, e.g. dedicated capacity models, program management models, etc. Evaluate acquisition opportunities or alternative business models associated with growth. Provide ongoing analytical support for Six Sigma projects that are initiated by staff in the business units supported by the analyst. Work with Project Profitability Analyst to identify areas of opportunity that may help improve business unit profitability. Work with other financial analysts on cross-functional or cross-business unit profit improvement analysis and implementation of opportunities to improve results. Team with Junior Analyst on activities associated with special projects as the need arises. Experience: Knowledge of the industry plus 5-10 years of financial and operational analysis experience in service or consumer products business known for financial excellence also required. Knowledge of financial evaluation, forecasting, and net present value analysis techniques. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Good presentation skills. High level of proficiency in the use of PC and applicable software, including relational database manipulation - MS office suite proficiency. Education: Under graduate Accounting or Finance degree required; MBA degree in Finance or related field or professional certification desirable.
