The desired candidate should have laboratory experience with general molecular biology techniques including oligonucleotide synthesis, ligation reactions, transformation, restriction digests, and electrophoresis gel separations. Other desirable skills include cloning and the use of a variety of vectors. A working knowledge of DNA sequencing including computer aided post-sequence analysis (Phred/Phrap/Consed) as well as familiarity with programs such as Mapdraw or other DNA manipulation tools would be a plus. The ideal candidate should furthermore, be equally comfortable working independently or in a multidisciplinary group environment. This is a temporary position.
BS in Biochemistry or Chemistry preferred.
