Univera, Inc. Jr. Web Developer

 

SUMMARY: The incumbent will have common knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures within the field and will assist in the design, development and implementation of software packages for websites.  Responsibilities will include troubleshooting, debugging and implementing software code. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following are examples of typical duties.  Other duties may be assigned

 

· Assists with linking Web servers to database systems

 

· Assists with building user interface applications and back-end databases using various programming and scripting languages.

 

· Authors Web pages and assists in project planning and Web site design.

 

· Assists in the creation of prototypes and functional specifications for software projects.

 

· Help create technical methodologies for engineering solutions to Web-based development problems.

 

· Conducts research and determines new Web technologies to utilize, such as browsers, languages, and plug-ins, based on the company's needs.

 

·  Makes suggestions on creating Web-based technical standards for specific Web sites and the company as a whole.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

 

· Ability to solve practical problems, multi-task and work under short time constraints.

l  Ability to hand code Javascript, HTML, and CSS 

l  Experience with Apache Tomcat

l  Knowledge of JQuery and/or AJAX

l  Ability to participate in all phases of application development projects, from requirements gathering to deployment.

l  Must be well-organized and efficient

 

EDUCATION AND EXPEREIENCE: A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or information systems and one (1) or more years experience with PHP and MySQL. Experience with Linux system administration and Drupal is a plus.
