Electrical Engineer - LipoSonix
Overview: This position is responsible for the architecture, design and development of analog and digital systems for our products. It works with cross-functional team members to meet product specifications and schedule deadlines for product development and prototyping. It develops product design specifications and documents designs in accordance with company, ISO-13485, FDA and other requirements.
Responsibilities: • Acts as the design engineer for various modules, collects requirements from system documentation and writes specifications for components for which they are responsible.
• Participates in mixed signal circuit design and system cabling design.
• Carries out schematic capture of electronic circuits.
• Directs CAD layout resources.
• Conducts laboratory debug and integration activities.
• Holds and participates in technical design reviews.
• Tests and verifies product designs and prototypes and writes design verification / validation protocols.
• Supervises the building of product prototypes.
Qualifications:
• Experience with digital hardware development utilizing microprocessors and FPGAs.
• Experience with analog signal processing circuits.
• Hands-on experience with typical electronics laboratory test equipment.
• Effective communication and documentation skills.
• A self-motivated and results-oriented individual.
Desired skills:
• Background in medical device development
• VHDL programming
• Background in diagnostic or therapeutic ultrasound
• C/C++ programming experience
• Experience with MatLab or LabView programming
• Control system design and implementation
• Experience using product lifecycle and documentation management tools.
The position requires a BS degree in electrical engineering or equivalent and two to six years of electrical design and development experience of products in medical devices or related field. A solid working knowledge of analog/digital circuitry, EDA software, design-for-manufacturability, power supply design, and documentation management systems is required.
