Narrative
Speedwell Weather Derivatives (SWD) is the premier provider of weather consulting services to the weather risk market. Business areas include, risk analysis, forecasting, data products, and general consulting. Upwards of 90% of the weather risk market is using one form or another of our products. Clients span the range from investment banks, reinsurance institutions, trader, brokers, and end users. Recent product releases including Recalibrated Data and SWSConnect have significantly impacted how companies conduct business in this market.
Building upon a long established client base in the North America SWD has recently opened an office in Alexandria, VA. This U.S. Office is focused on building upon Speedwell’s well established product lines while developing new products to meet the needs of the international energy markets.
We are in the process of expanding the capabilities of our Alexandria, VA office and are looking for qualified individuals. The individual selected for this position will be involved with day-to-day product / client support.
Role Responsibilities Assisting with quality control programs Providing customer support Producing descriptive forecast content for web / client products Collaborating on product development
Requirements Degree in Meteorology (Masters degree preferred) Familiarity with the Weather Derivative and Energy markets is strongly preferred Ability to work independently Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools Strong communication skills Knowledge of computer administration and / or programming is considered a plus
