Description of Position:  Provides overall leadership to the Retail Banking staff of a group of 10 to 15 branches to ensure the achievement of the strategy and sales goals in the area of Branch Banking.  Personally demonstrates and champions operating models and holds the management team accountable for demonstrating the same behaviors.  Manages the accomplishment of district Retail Banking sales growth and production goals. Manages the budget and oversees consistency in staff decisions.  Implements appropriate modifications to enhance the performance of the district focusing on coaching and training staff using the tools from the Operating Model to develop sales skills.  Monitors the activities of all staff members to ensure that district conducts business in compliance with all regulatory and Bank standards including security and BSA. Monitors the results of audits, takes appropriate action to improve district results and is proactive in ensuring that business is conducted in an ethical and professional manner. Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

 

Qualifications: An understanding of business processes and communication at a level normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelors degree in Business or some other closely related degree.  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. A background in branch banking and management is required.  Experience managing a multi-unit area is preferred. Outstanding communication skills in order to be able to clearly communicate and motivate staff at all levels and proven coaching skills in order to be able to develop staff.  The leadership skills to build and maintain a cohesive team, to be able to lead by example, to be a change agent and to demonstrate on a daily basis the Core Competencies.  Strong analytical skills in order to be able to analyze problems, issues and opportunities from a strategic perspective when problem solving and to be able to implement strategies within the district that support the Retail Banking strategy.
