Corporate Chief Credit Officer (C&I/Construction Lending)
One of the largest privately owned banks in the Pacific Northwest
* As a member of the senior management team, participates in the overall management of the Bank driving long term profitability through credit quality. Specifically, leads the strategic review and execution of credit risk management operations to prevent losses and to achieve business goals.
* Works with business unit managers to review credits prior to being submitted to Loan Committee to ensure potential issues are vetted and researched. Provides advice and recommendations to business unit managers and to Loan Committee members on credits and loan structures. Is a voting member of the Loan Committee.
* Maintains, updates and recommends changes to the Bank's loan policy and procedures.
* Exercise direct responsibility for the allowance for loan and lease reserves and the provisioning process, maintaining consistency with the highest standards in the industry and appropriate for all regulatory agencies.
* Oversees the accuracy of asset classifications established by the business units. Interprets risk rating definitions and provides training as necessary to lending and credit personnel.
* Periodically assesses the quality of monitoring and analysis of the portfolio performed by the lending units.
* Monitors larger problem loans and monitor workout activities.
* Oversees the preparation of quarterly loan loss reserve report adjusting the methodology as necessary and ensuring that the Bank has adequately reserved for the risk inherent in the Bank's portfolio.
* Presents to management, the Finance Committee of the Board and to the full Board, a comprehensive report and assessment of the organization's credit risk portfolio. Reports will include assessment of documentation, collateral, policy, compliance and financial reporting exceptions, delinquencies, non-accruals, OREO and loan concentrations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* 15+ years of Credit Management experience including a minimum of three years at the senior management level in a growing financial services company. Previous Chief Credit Officer experience highly preferred.
* 10+ years of proven leadership skills and experience, preferably in a large commercial financial services environment where influencing skills are as important as authority.
* 5+ years of Credit Management experience with construction loans.
* Significant experience monitoring workout activity and resolving large problem loans.
* Substantial experience in bank loan administration and/or as a consultant to financial institutions.
* Prior experience in managing mid-size loan transactions.
* In-depth knowledge of commercial business banking and credits.
* Knowledge of financial operations and experience in budgeting and managing loan assets.
EDUCATION: Undergraduate degree in a related field, MBA preferred.
