Analyze logical / physical database designs, data models, and definitions for data warehouses. Assist with design of data models. Work directly with clients, ETL analysts, and database engineering team to design and develop high performance database solutions for analytical analysis and reporting. Monitors data load processes, validates results, and determines related data patterns. Work closely with business units to define data requirements. Support medium to large scope projects which are technically complex and cross business functions. Required Skills
Analyzes logical and physical data models and database definitions.
Provides data element naming consistent with standards and conventions and ensures that data dictionaries are maintained across multiple database environments.
Consults with database administration and client areas in resolving questions regarding translation of data requirements to database design.
Provides in-depth consulting to clients, IT management, and IT staff in the identification and resolution of information flow and data quality issues.
Performs data modeling studies and develops detailed data models.
Works with clients, IT management, and IT staff to establish and maintain consistent data element definitions.
Participates in the design, development, and maintenance of corporate data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data dictionaries and data element naming standards, and conventions for multiple computing environments to support data warehousing and efficient data mining.
Evolves models to meet new and changing business requirements.
Identifies and investigates data patterns for issue resolution.
Effectively writes detailed functional specifications and data environment documentation.Required Experience
B.S. or B.A. degree and 3-5 years work experience in data modeling, data warehousing, data mining, data entity analysis, logical and relational database design or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Demonstrated expertise in data analysis, data warehouse technologies and data tools.
Excellent analytical ability, judgment, and problem analysis techniques.
Knowledge of the business unit's functions and applications, excellent consultative skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, IT management, and IT staff.
Ability to independently create and query multi-dimensional and relational databases.
Demonstrated problem solving skills and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal, written, technical, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Leader as well as a team player with ability to foster good working relationships with both and client teams.
Strong attention to detail and excellent sleuthing capabilities
