Overview: The Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom software applications. 

 

Job Purpose (including, but not limited to):

*Software Development on the company sales application: user interface, backend database design, reporting interface,  and Crystal Reports or SQL Reporting Services.

*Work with end users to gather and analyze requirements; testing, user acceptance testing, and build/deploy.

*Involved with evaluating new technologies or products to determine effectiveness in an existing solution base.

*Research, design, write and test new software programs; develop existing systems by analyzing and identifying areas for modification.

*Ensure consistent quality in all software released.

*Maintain systems by monitoring, identifying and correcting software defects; create technical specifications and test plans; work with computer coding languages; write operational documentation.

Education and/or Experience:

*BS in Computer Science or related field and 5 years experience OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years experience.

*Fluent with Dev Tools (BeyondCompare, UltraEdit, Nunit, TestDriven.net, TestTrackPro, Visual Studio, VSS, CodeSmith).

*Fluent in SqlServer Tools (Enterprise Manager, Query Analyzer, and others).

*Knowledge of build tools (CC.NET, Nant, Nunit).

*Experience with:

*Managing code deployments to production in a VSS environment.

*Managing scripted deployments to production in SQL Server environment.

*Developing C#, Visual Basic.NET, JavaScript in Visual Studio.NET.

*Writing and debugging ASP.NET using Visual Studio.NET.

*Setting up and managing a client-server development, staging and production environment.

*Other script technologies such as vbscript, wscript, and batch script a plus.
