Marketing Manager

 

Overview

 

Act as the lead and primary contact for the planning, development and implementation of Business Development and Data-focused marketing campaigns targeted at prospect and existing pre-owned car dealer customers throughout North America.  Lead a diverse array of marketing projects/programs to achieve corporate sales, usage and retention goals.  This position reports to the Director of Dealer Marketing.

 

Responsibilities

 

·         Manage the development and implementation of a variety of B2B marketing initiatives that will support our Business Development, and Data efforts targeted at acquiring new dealer subscribers; achieve year-over-year usage and revenue growth; and retain existing dealer subscribers.

·         Oversee a team of marketing professionals to ensure successful execution of programs in a timely and accurate manner, while adhering to assigned budgets.

·         Work directly with various internal working groups, including Business Development, Service Link and Data Acquisition, to develop campaigns, promotions, offers, positioning/messaging, etc.

·         Analyze campaign response and return on investment (ROI) and report results back to the business.

·         Gain an understanding of the needs/issues of our pre-owned car dealer customers through regular phone monitoring of calls; in-market visits to dealers with field personnel; meetings with key partners; attendance at industry conferences and Dealer Business Unit meetings, etc.

 

Competencies

 

·         B2B Marketing – Experience in a B2B marketing environment using mediums such as online marketing tools, e-mail, broadcast fax, online and offline advertising, direct mail, customer/prospect communications, sales tools, Web site content, industry conferences and events.

·         Personnel Management – Direct experience managing/supervising a team of marketing professionals and proven ability to coach, support and motivate a team.

·         Project Management – Ability to effectively manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously within tight deadlines and a strict attention to detail.

·         Interpersonal and Communication Skills – Capable of interacting and communicating effectively with all levels of internal personnel and external agencies/vendors.  Able to build consensus among multiple groups within an organization.

·         Analytical Skills – Ability to understand, track, analyze and use information to develop more effective marketing programs.

Qualifications

 

·         BA/BS in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field required.  An MBA is preferred.

·         Minimum of 5 – 7 years experience in a direct marketing environment, ideally B2B.

·         Minimum of 2 – 3 years experience managing/supervising a team of marketing professionals.

·         Superior written and verbal communications skills.  Experience working across multiple departments at many levels and building consensus.

·         Strong knowledge of business related software, such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

·         Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver within tight deadlines.

·         Some overnight travel required – minimum of one trip per month.
