Gas Station Manager
Marine View Ventures is seeking qualified candidates to manage a Shell station in Tacoma, WA. The site includes both gas and convenience store operations. Marine View Ventures is a small team operating in a fast-paced and exciting environment. We are looking for employees with a positive and optimistic attitude to join our team. Marine View Ventures is a tribally chartered entity of the Puyallup Tribe of Indians. All full-time positions are eligible for full benefits (health, dental, pension, 401K, and life insurance).
·Supervise and coordinate all employee activities at the site, including: recruiting, training, scheduling, ongoing motivation, performance reviews, discipline & career planning; provide employees all resources & training necessary to deliver best-in-class customer service
·Develop sales goals and targets; meet or exceed P&L objectives including sales, margin, inventory shrinkage, payroll & controllable operating expenses
·Balance books daily using designated software to ensure proper accounting of all purchases, sales, accounts payable, accounts receivable and inventory levels; verify & count all employee drop envelopes; deposit funds in bank as necessary; close books at the end of the month in coordination with MVV Accounting Department
·Manage all day-to-day vendor relationships to determine optimal: a) assortment of products, b) pricing of products, c) display of products, and d) inventory of products; aggressively manage inventory levels to ensure adequate levels of stock are on hand (i.e. shelves are fully stocked) while maximizing inventory turns by department; partner with vendors to determine optimal delivery schedule
·Evaluate daily store operations to: a) identify opportunities for improvement, b) identify potential areas of risk, and c) determine best practice learning that can be shared with other site managers; share key learnings with manager on an ongoing basis
·Develop marketing strategies and programs to improve customer count and drive higher conversion rate with existing customers; foundation for programs should be desire to deliver best-in-class customer experience each time a customer enters the store
·Maintain fuel pumps & other station related equipment to maximize customer throughput
·Provide General Manager regular updates on operational issues associated with the site
