Diesel Technician - Sioux Falls

SUMMARYThis individual performs repairs on basic model engines and sub-assemblies. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES·  Endorse and actively support any and all Cummins Central Power's safety policies and procedures·Actively support Cummins Central Power’s Customer Support Improvement (CSI) efforts. ·  Complete required shop paperwork and processes including work orders. ·  Complete most normal repairs within standard repair time allowances. ·  Successfully complete all required training courses from Cummins Inc. ·  Continually improve upon your ability by home study courses, service & parts topics and other training offered by Cummins Central Power. ·  Properly use all technical publications and use of Quickserve on-line. ·  Communicate and document all troubleshooting and repair procedures on all repairs. ·  Read job orders.  ·  Disassemble, or reassemble engines, fuel systems, distributors, starters, torque converters and pumps.Required to lift 95 pounds from floor height to waist height for a single repetition.  Required to push a weighted sled with a force of 100 pounds for a distance of 10 feet. Required to pull a weighted sled with a pulling force of 100 pounds for a distance of 10 feet.  ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES ·  Assist in other areas of the department and learning the use of tools and equipment. ·  Help maintain a safe and clean work environment. ·  Other duties as assigned. ·  Be familiar with technician’s responsibilities while working on warranty repairs.  KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS ·  High school diploma or equivalent, Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training in a related field.·  Basic computer and math skills.·  Ability to communicate and work well with other employees and customers. ·  Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers. ·  Current drivers license (CDL preferred)  WORKING CONDITIONSWorking conditions normal for a service environment. Will be subject to diesel exhaust fumes. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment.
