Technical Documentation Specialist (Architectural Graphics)

HOK is a worldwide leader in design for the built environment. Our Visual Communications studio is seeking individual skilled in the graphic design of architectural graphics, sign systems, and display environments. This position is open to an individual skilled in technical detailing, construction documentation and specification of high quality, high profile, often large scale projects in a variety of building types.

 

This is a senior position, requiring experience in self-directed project execution, client communication and personable team communication skills. This position is in the Houston office though projects are historically national and increasingly international.

 

Responsibilities:

Detail development, construction documentation, bid set packaging, location planning, message scheduling, client communications, contractor coordination, post-installation evaluation.

 

Qualifications:

Eight+ years experience with similar responsibilities. Prior experience with large scale complex environmental graphics projects desired. Additional experience in exhibit and display environments is welcomed. Education in graphic design or industrial design desired, though alternate experience considered.

 

Skills:Mac-based studio utilizing Adobe Creative Suite for design and AutoCAD on Windows for CAD documentation. Adobe Illustrator and AutoCAD proficiency required. Skills with Adobe InDesign and MS Office desired. Advanced written and verbal communication skills desired. Successful organizational and self-management skills required. Ability to advance conceptual ideas into complete technical documentation suitable for bidding and construction required.Ability to travel periodically to client sites.
