Overview: Surveys/Geomatics Stantec's Surveys/Geomatics Group is one of North America's largest surveying and mapping consultants with more than 700 geomatics employees, including over 90 licensed professional surveyors, operating out of 45 locations. Our team applies state-of-the-art office and field tools to deliver a broad range of solutions for private and public clients. Focusing on all aspects of spatial data, we provide services that include boundary surveying, topographic mapping, construction layout, geodetic and GPS surveys, GIS development, terrestrial laser scanning, aerial photogrammetry, and hydrographic surveying. Responsibilities: Stantec Engineering has an immediate opening for a Survey Crew Chief. We are looking for an individual who has field and office experience with boundary analysis, construction layout including cut/fill slope staking, topographic and planimetric surveying of severely disturbed lands, property surveying, project control and network surveying. Must be able to read, understand, and follow construction plans and specifications. Qualifications: The successful candidate will have at least two (2) years experience as a Survey Crew Chief or four (4) years experience as a rodman with the ability to crew chief. Degreed professional required, State Registration preferred but not required. Willingness and ability to work away from home for extended periods of time. Familiarity with GPS (Topcon and Trimble), Topcon and Trimble Total Stations (Robotic, Refectorless, and Conventional) a plus. Familiarity with AutoCAD and SurvCADD also a plus.
