Job Title: RF Test Technician

 

Location:   Cedar Park, TX

JobDescription:  Applicant would become part of a team that provides EMC, Antenna and RFtesting solutions to clients worldwide. 

 

As a key member ofthe TDK RF Solutions Inc. team, you will apply your understanding of specifictesting requirements and procedures to help design, characterize, support andimplement EMC/Antenna/RF testing solutions for customers worldwide.

 

The applicant should be able to provide technicalexpertise and support on systemssolutions during: proposal preparation, procurement, assembly, testing,installation, training and customer service by performing the followingduties personally or as a member of a team.

  Supports sales staff by providing input during proposal/specification stage and other support to close a sale as needed. Plans and coordinates the production, shipment, receipt, and installation of a wide variety of system components.  Insures all parts and equipment needed to fill a system order are ordered and available so project may be completed on time and within budget, per contract.

  Monitors and manages costs to insure profitability. Assembles and/or oversees assembly of systems per specifications.  Works with other technicians and engineers  to insure proper assembly.  Provides information about system functions, requirements, etc. Tests and approves products for shipment to customer. Acts as project lead and mentor for other employees as needed on assigned projects. At customer’s site, helps with installation and integration of the system.  Does testing to insure functionality; demonstrates system and trains customer’s personnel on use of system. Reviews product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents. Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management..

 

Education/Experience:

An Associate’sDegree in Engineering from a Vocational or Technical school is preferred alongwith on the job experience of at least 3 years. Military experience will also be positively looked upon as long as it isrelated to the EMC/Antenna discipline.

 

HardwareExperience:

Hands onexperience should include use of RF signal generators, spectrum analyzer, RFpower meter, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, EMI receivers, high powered RFamps and RF and fiber optic cabling.

 

Knowledge,Skills and Abilities:

Must possess the ability to read schematics (electrical andmechanical).

 

Should be familiar and comfortable with software installations.

 

Ability to perform EMC testing and electronics assembly is required.

 

Position requires organizational, communication, and teamworkskills. 

 

Candidate must be comfortable working and interacting in a variety ofbusiness cultures.

 

The candidate must have a high attention todetail and be customer focused.

 

Ability to work well under pressure, meetdeadlines, and be able to travel for extended periods of time is alsorequired. 

 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents andcontracts.  Ability to respond to commoninquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of thebusiness community. 

 

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and drawvalid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technicalinstructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract andconcrete variables.

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledgeof word processing, spreadsheet, project management and design software and befamiliar with the Internet.
