AGUIRREcorporation, headquartered in Dallas is a 47 year old company focused on Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Program Management services.  We are currently looking for a IT COORDINATOR/INTERN in our Dallas, Texas office.

 

SUMMARY  With the assistance of an outsourcing company, maintains responsibility and coordination of the company’s Information Systems, engaging the expertise of consultants and/or vendors and support of temporary staff as needed. Plans, organizes and manages the design, development, acquisition and implementation of applications; network and database management; systems analysis and programming to automate the business functions. Provide efficient computer operations and high performance computer networks to meet current and future processing/communications requirements.  Implements and maintains office phone systems and mobile phone contracts.  Provide expert consultation and training on company software such as, Timberline (for Accounting) as well as other office programs as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

& RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

 

·  Develops and maintains the I/S Strategic Plan in consultation with the Vice President of Finance. This involves a thorough knowledge of the business plans of senior and mid-managers and a firm grasp of available I/S industry solutions.

 

 

·  Directs the design, development (or procurement) and maintenance of systems, programs, and systems software to meet management information needs of the corporation. Executes the strategic plan. May involve securing consultant and/or vendor support and oversight of I/S temps on a project basis.

 

 

·  Makes recommendations to the Vice President of Finance of change in equipment or other infrastructure. Reviews out-of-plan systems request, identifies impact on current planned resources, and recommends appropriate action.

 

 

·  Establishes policies, standards, practices and security measures to assure compliance with accepted industry practice and protect I/S-controlled assets.

 

 

·  Oversees the coordination of desktop software and hardware. This includes client-server and network systems. Determines information requirements for current and planned business systems and the development of information processes and procedures in support of the Company’s strategic objectives.

 

 

·  Reports progress on development projects, resource utilization, and production performance to the Vice President of Finance

 

·  Participates in developing an annual Information Systems operating and capital budget and establishes controls to stay within the specified limits of the budgets.

 

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Maintains responsibility for oversight of I/S consultants and coordination with consultants and/or vendors on a project basis.

Education and Experience requirement

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related specialty or equivalent experience/training preferred. Minimum 2 years of technical/professional experience. Position requires a broad understanding of general business and management practices and project leadership.  Must be Microsoft certifiable within the next 12 months.  Language and Mathematical Skills requirement

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from members of management or staff. Excellent ability to (communicate effectively) write reports and business correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information (either verbal or written) to the Vice President of Finance or other key management.  .

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical information in mathematical and/or narrative form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, bend, crawl under desks and reach above shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment is an office environment with moderate noise level.
