Salary:        Building Designer, In-Training, $4,014 - $5,266 Monthly (Range 57)

There are two current openings for Architect 2 (Plan Reviewers) to be filled on an in-training basis from the Building Designer 2 or the Architect 1 level, or at the Architect 2 level depending on qualifications.  These positions are in the Facilities and Services Licensing, Construction Review Section, Division of Health Systems Quality Assurance.  This recruitment may be used to fill future Architect 2 vacancies as they occur statewide.  To learn more about the Division of Health Systems Quality Assurance, visit http://www.doh.wa.gov/hsqa/.

Primary Duties 

 

These positions serve as plan review architects specializing in providing consultation, technical assistance, and reviewing for compliance with state and federal standards to health care facilities and their staff along with directing and coordinating the planning, development, analysis, and improvement of the regulatory process within the Facilities and Services Licensing Division for the regulation of health care facilities and services statewide.

 

In-Training Plan

 

Building Designer 2, In-Training:  Those filling positions at the Building Designer 2 level will be required to successfully complete the required 18 month training program before advancing to Architect 1, In-Training.  Upon advancement to Architect 1, In-Training, successful completion of an additional structured training program is required before advancing to Architect 2 level.

 

Architect 1, In-Training:  Those filling positions at the Architect 1 level will be required to successfully complete a structured 18 month training program before advancing to Architect 2 level.

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

Building Designer 2, In-Training:

A Bachelor's degree involving major study in architecture or architectural engineering

AND

One year of professional experience as practicing architect or as structural plans examiner.  Architect 1, In-Training:

·        A Bachelor's degree involving major study in architecture or architectural engineering;

·        One year of professional experience as practicing architect or as structural plans examiner; AND

·        Registration as an architect in Washington State or in a state having reciprocity with Washington.

Architect 2:

  A Bachelor's degree involving major study in architecture or architectural engineering;

·        One year of professional experience as practicing architect or as structural plans examiner;

·        Registration as an architect in Washington State or in a state having reciprocity with Washington;

·        Two years of experience as an architect subsequent to above registration; AND
