Floor Planning Analyst
Do you have 2 years of retail space planning experience, accompanied by strong analytical and project management skills? Are you deadline oriented? If so, our Analyst position in Floor Planning might be just the position you have been searching for! As the Floor Planning Analyst, you will be responsible for correctly assigning planograms to store merchandise floor plans by determining fixture and linear footage requirements and matching to existing clustering and solution rationalization decisions or requesting new rationalization solutions based on existing conditions. You will assist in the Floor Planning process by making layout and floor plan design and adjacency decisions during Resets, Remodels and Store Projects and through store assignments. This position is aligned to all businesses and helps to resolve space related issues both proactively and reactively. Creatively adapting and enforcing profitability and visual standards in accordance with the company’s strategic goals is important. You will work to ensure compliance with the above standards while teaming with other members of Merchandising, Retail Ops, Store Services and Store Environments to help develop and deliver an effective merchandising strategy with the greatest value to the company. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Evaluate, create and communicate category's store layouts on floor plans in accordance with profitability, visual and inventory standards Responsible for partnering, defining and communicating scope of requested change with a Store Services Project Manager and project implementation team so that a cost/timing estimate may be created for field approval Solves incoming Field Management store issues / concerns about store layouts and/or planogram adjacency and resolves them through the Store Director or DM. This may include providing on-site layout resolution Utilize Quality Control reports to evaluate market-specific product strategies Manipulate sales and margin reports to maximize product adjacencies Provide GMROS (Gross Margin Return On Space) calculations to merchants to assist in the development of product category strategies Use GMROS data to create optimal store prototypes and site-specific layouts Complete advanced drawing training to maximize project efficiency Manage timely, effective and accurate floor plan creation that integrates fixture and merchandising plans to accommodate Field Management merchandising objectives (multiple solutions usually prepared for sensitivity analysis.) Proactively identifies issues and provides the best possible layout solution for the specific store as well as providing prototype layout solution suggestions Develop training tools to improve job efficiency Review site specific store drawings for accuracy in placement and POG assignment as a part of the Reset process Represent the Floor Planning team and Managers in various meetings Create reset/ project specific rule sets and educate the team that will utilize them All applicable duties of a Floor Planning Associate AnalystPreferred Education and/or Experience: Retail Experience (preferred) Management Experience (preferred) Strong Oral Communication Skills (required) Strong Analytical Skills (required) Project Management Experience (required) Bachelors Degree (preferred) Strong Written Communication Skills Past experience with JDA Intactix or other reputable Space Planning Software (preferred)Technical Requirements: Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products preferred JDA Floor and/or Space Planning software experience a plus AutoCad experience a plusCertificates/Licenses/Registrations (if required): None required, but JDA Floor Planning and JDA Knowledge Base Certification is a plus As we continue to transform our organization to better meet the needs of our customers, there are many opportunities to contribute to the future success of Circuit City.
