They are among the industry's best in developing and executing efficient and cost-effective data and telecommunications strategies for education, manufacturing, government, healthcare, and communications service providers. Design, Engineering, Construction and Support of Telecommunications Infrastructure Facilities Including: Carrier Services, MAN/WANS, Network Elements and Systems, Building Infrastructure for Voice/Data and Video RESPONSIBILITIES§ Assist in the design and drafting for all infrastructure and network needs. § Develop detailed engineering 2D AutoCAD drawings (inside and outside facilities / above or below ground) for the installation of data and voice cabling within buildings and across corporate, industrial, and academic campuses.§ Create layouts for all types of cable media, including fiber optics.§ Follow National Electric Code (NEC) standards § Follow American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards.§ Follow Electronic Industry Association (EIA) standards.§ Follow Telecommunication Industry Association (TIA) standards.§ Redline drawings§ Read blueprints and schematics REQUIREMENTS§ Associates Degree in Drafting Technology preferred, but experience can be substituted for education.§ Proficient in AutoCAD 2005 or better.§ Minimum 6 months of experience as a CAD Technician or equivalent.§ Knowledge of Electrical, Civil, Mechanical or Architectural drafting. § Telecommunication or utility plan design experience a strong plus.§ Ability to read drawings, blueprints and schematics.
