Technology and Global Infrastructure Manager

Position: Technology and Global Infrastructure Manager

General Responsibilities: 

 

Overall infrastructure, technology architecture and technical development. Provides strategic, tactical planning, technology leadership and I.T Operations Architecture. Technology implementation expertise required to ensure the successful technology delivery of the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Overall Data center, Exchange and Network Infrastructure and related software. Maintains overall responsibility for reviewing, planning, organizing and directing all Infrastructure related initiatives and applicable core infrastructure agreements.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

•  Oversee all IT infrastructure projects, agreements, tasks and project management resource including the responsibility for on-time and on-budget planning and delivery.

•  Analyze, advise, and consolidate infrastructure and IT investments where appropriate.

•  Responsible for organizing and directing required activities to ensure a consistent industry standard approach and deployment methodology on all worldwide core infrastructure project frameworks and rollout planning.

•  Provide strategic leadership and guidance on new technologies to senior management and peers with sound assessments and recommendations on potential business benefits for adoption of new technologies or alternative methods of operating.

•  Working with senior management to understand strategic and tactical goals and translate into effective IT infrastructure services and capabilities.

•  Assisting to define a core infrastructure roadmap and ensuring that this continues to map to the changing business and operational needs of Wilbur Ellis.

•  Identify and assess risks, define and enforce risk mitigation measures for all core infrastructure initiatives and ad hoc project and implementation requests made to the infrastructure group.

•  Ensure adequate controls for risk management practices are in place within functional accountabilities.

•  Serve as primary contact for critical core infrastructure management providers, revise and benchmark regularly and ensure industry standard rates and service approaches are applied.

•  Accomplish optimum utilization and most economical implementation of infrastructure related to business systems / JD Edwards ERP, its components and peripheral equipment.

•  Develop RFQ’s, RFP’s and solicit responses from vendors for new initiatives; evaluate responses and provide recommendations for preferred vendor selections.

•  Proactive and reactive maintenance and management of computing information technology, development and management of policies, procedures, and programs to ensure data and system stability and security.

•  Design/build/run, operations architecture, system administration, database, ERP and other technical frameworks, etc.

•  Provides technical expertise in support of various aspects of OneWorld Architecture, installation and configuration.

•  Directs the CNC team in architecting and installing EnterpriseOne software.

•  Manages efficient EnterpriseOne systems by applying service pack updates, ESU/ASU, package management, OCM mappings and object transfer between environments.

•  Manages planning and implementing JDE security setups for different levels, e.g. group/user security, application security, action security, row/column level security and processing option security.

•  Manage a work plan (budgets, etc’s) at a task level.

•  Manage submission of all maintenance requests into project-identified change management tool.

•  Manage, support, review and implement performance/audit recommendations — working with application/hardware vendor and from experience interpret which recommendations to apply.

•  Manages the installation and upgrade of applications, operating systems and other related hardware and software upgrades.

•  Assist in budget planning and estimating.

•  Assist in structuring and organizing team delivery.

•  Create moderately complex project plans.

•  Provide written formal evaluation of team members.

•  Assist in building best people within the team — adequate training, mentoring, and access to technical resources.

•  Assume responsibility for maintaining backup, recoverability and DR capabilities.

•  Recognize and take appropriate measures for issues that are moderately to highly complex.

•  Responsible for the timely and successful execution of application migrations — to any and all target environments.

•  Responsible for application/database and system tuning.

•  Research application patches — understanding the implication and need for implementing notes.

•  Responsible for adhering to all company policies and procedures.

•  Ensures that staff are trained and able to:

o  Perform IBM OS upgrades and PTF maintenance
